Queensland’s science and innovation precincts and hubs connect universities, research institutes, businesses, government and communities to turn research into results, create jobs, attract skilled workers and support rural and regional growth.

Co-investment in shared-use infrastructure, activation initiatives and stronger links between precincts, will accelerate commercialisation, support new businesses, improve access to funding and align investment with Queensland’s strengths to attract further co-investment.

Rural and regional areas will be supported with improved access to early-stage and growth support, with government backing regional enablers and attracting investment. Opportunities will also be provided for regions to establish innovation clusters and place-based groups to attract and support startups.

Advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, quantum computing and robotics, will lift productivity, strengthen capability and unlock new opportunities. A Team Queensland approach will bring agencies together around shared priorities and coordinated delivery.

An advisory council will guide priorities and coordination across the system, supported by the annual science and innovation conference to bring key partners together and strengthen collaboration.
