Logo for Tokenizer

Tokenizer is a multi-year AI capability-building program delivered by the Peregian Digital Hub to develop practical Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills through hands-on learning, collaboration and real-world application. It is designed to grow an AI-literate community and strong talent pipeline, enabling individuals and organisations to confidently adopt and build with AI.

The program builds on the Hub’s early leadership in AI, including cadetships launched in 2019, years of workshops and experimentation, and the addition of a dedicated AI Lab in 2023.

Together, these initiatives have fostered a dynamic regional ecosystem of AI talent, startups and innovation. The centrepoint to this capability is the Wonder Pod, a world-class, 80-seat immersive facility featuring a 7m LED wall, advanced AV, and hybrid delivery capabilities that is supporting workshops, training, and industry collaboration at scale.

The Peregian Digital Hub’s Tokenizer program is equipping entrepreneurs and businesses across Noosa and the Sunshine Coast with practical AI skills through expert-led training, hands-on experimentation and collaborative projects, supporting the region’s tech sector to embrace generative AI through a staged progression from foundation to production in a rapidly evolving landscape.

Tokenizer supports a broad and diverse audience, including startup founders, SME and industry leaders, technologists, creatives, high schoolers and community participants. It is designed to extend AI capability across sectors, driving both economic and social outcomes by launching startups, unlocking innovation and improving employability.

The program is delivered by the Peregian Digital Hub (Noosa Shire Council), with support from the Queensland Government’s Regional Enablers Program, alongside strong partnerships with key regional industry groups and networks.

Program impact

As part of the Queensland Government’s Regional Enablers Program, the Tokenizer initiative is a ‘full court press’ to enable local innovators to adapt, learn and thrive with AI through shared learning and action

The program is open to Hub members, Startups, Digital Marketers and Creatives, Technologists and Non-Exec Directors, Students, SMEs and the Community.

The delivery of generative AI workshops, founder support, best practice sharing, residencies, meetups, Cadetship, Hackathons and investor pitching has enabled Tokenizer to nurture and accelerate the growth of Innovation Driven Enterprises which are crucial for the region’s future economic prosperity.

Part of Tokenizer delivery in 2025 incorporated Uplift - a stream for medium-sized businesses – which encompassed mentoring, practical support mechanisms, demos/show-and-tell, practitioner-led sessions and workflow guidance over two Cohorts and resulted in five companies progressing to formal AI projects and seven companies progressing to Proof of Concept scoping including KITT Ai, Education Futures Foundation and NextPlay Ai, all of which benefited significantly from the program.

Together, Tokenizer, Uplift, AI Cadetship and VibeCamp demonstrate how a regional ecosystem can translate emerging technology into real capability, outcomes and opportunity. By combining practical skills development, immersive experiences and strong community networks, the Peregian Digital Hub is not only accelerating AI adoption but also positioning Noosa as a destination for innovation, collaboration and talent in the AI era.
